Top Quality Milk
Our attention to detail and quality starts with the care we give
our animals and continues through the production of our delicious
milk and into the creation of our all natural puddings. We are
committed to producing the highest quality milk we can because
we know our wonderful milk is what makes our puddings so special.
The milk used in our puddings is richer than the milk used by
other pudding manufacturers because it is higher in butterfat
and protein. The milk from our herd of Jerseys and Milking Shorthorns
ranges from 4.0 percent to 4.5 percent butterfat and 3.4 percent
to 3.8 percent protein. We do not take any valuable nutrients
from our milk or add any additives to the milk we use in our puddings.
We have also won numerous quality awards for our superior milk.
The excess milk from our farm that is not made into Echo Farm
Puddings, is sold to a local milk plant and made into powdered
milk, butter, or ice cream.
The exceptional care given to our cows ensures a low incidence
of mastitis, resulting in milk with an extremely low somatic cell
count and higher quality milk. By monitoring daily milk production
and careful observation of each of our 100 milking cows, we are
able to diagnose diseases before the cow shows all the symptoms.
We pride ourselves in an aggressive herd health program, resulting
in an extremely low mortality rate among our girls. This all relates
back to the idea of: "the healthier the cow, the healthier
the milk."
The milk we use in our puddings is extremely fresh because it
is produced right on the farm. Our milk has already been turned
into delicious puddings long before milk from the average farm
makes it to the milk plant, where it still needs to be processed
before it is shipped to stores. Devotion to quality can be found
in every member of our farm and stems from our commitment to provide
our customers with the highest quality, all natural puddings possible.
